Legg Mason Asset Management Poland received top recognition from Forbes for delivering "super alpha" and ranking as the # 1 Polish Equity Fund Manager in the magazine’s 2008 ranking, published in its September issue.
In addition, the team’s Legg Mason Akcji Fund (the locally managed Legg Mason Equity Open-End Investment Fund) was rated # 3 for Locally Managed Open-End Investment Funds.

The researchers of Forbes magazine conducted the analysis of asset managers’ capabilities as well as local equity funds’ monthly performance over the past three years. Jensen’s alpha was the basic measure used to rank the funds as well as the asset managers. The details of the Forbes ranking has been described in the September issue of the magazine, Poland. Forbes's survey partner is SEENDICATE (Economic Experts Syndicate) constituted of economic advisers and research workers from the Warsaw School of Economics. The goal of the ranking is to measure the results of investment funds and the quality of management.
The award for the Best Polish Equity Fund Manager was accepted by Tomasz Jedrzejczak, CEO of Legg Mason Poland, during the Forbes awards ceremony last Wednesday, August 27 in Warsaw.
